Singer of World, Pop and Folk
Gino Maringola (Naples, 13 Nov. 1917, 26 May 2011) was an italian actor, also singer. Fatherless, under the wise guidance of his uncle at the age of 10 was already singing in the choir of Basilica del Carmine. In the mid-thirties was engaged by Alfredo Thomas a solo singer doing show in the best italian theaters. After 1940 he continued his career with the success as actor with Gino Cervi, Emma Gramatica, Elsa Merlini, Nando Gazzolo. Acting for years with Eduardo De Filippo both at theater and tv. He lived most of his life in the Spanish quarters, by definition, rich historical Neapolitan folklore.
