Who are Girl One And The Grease Guns ? The simple answer to that is.....nobody really knows. They were born in late 2012, when they recorded their debut 7" single, Driving Without Headlights (Once Again) b/w (I'm A) Willing Receiver, which was released in early 2013 on Squirrel Records. They chose to remain anonymous except for the names Sissy Space Echo, Warren Betamax, Charles Bronson Burner and Bruce LeeFax. On a couple of occasions, they were joined by one more Grease Gun - John Cassette-vetes. They recorded "in a freezing cold structure inside a timber yard", which is known as The Glass Factory. Sometimes, they recorded within a building known as The Ghost Town. They only released their music on 7" single - each one on Squirrel Records. This format suited their aesthetic. They said it was because you can listen to it instead of watching the commercials in-between your favourite TV shows. There have been seven 7" singles in total....and there will apparently be no more. The next move from the band is unknown at this present time. Up to this date, we have seen no photographs, there have been no live appearances, and only the very slightest information about them has been released to the public. They say this approach represents the perfect band. When you strip away everything else, all that remains is the music itself.
