GLEN CAMPBELL, CELLO Glen Campbell has performed with numerous orchestras from Connecticut to California, and performs locally in the San Diego Symphony,the San Diego Opera and the La Jolla Chamber Orchestra. He is a member of the Adjunct Performance Faculty at USD. As a member of the Feld String Quartet, he toured Mexico, performed live on KFAC, Los Angeles, and lectured at the University of Guadalajara. Mr. Campbell started playing the cello when he was 13. He graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana with a degree in music education. H e completed a Masters degree at Hartt College of Music in Hartford, Connecticut where he studied with Bernard Greenhouse and was a member of the Hartford Symphony. With his wife, violist Re bekah Campbell, they came to San Diego in 1969 to play in the San Diego Symphony and to be me mbers of the Feld String Quartet which was in residence at the United States International Uni versity. Glen is also a member of the San Diego Opera Orchestra and has played in other area chambe r orchestras. Glen Campbell began teaching the Suzuki cello metho d in the early 70’s after studying with Yvonne Tait. He has taught in the Suzuki program at San Diego State University and was the director of the program until its closure in 2006. Glen has served on the local and state Suzuki boards. He and his San Diego Symphony colleague, Ka rla Holland-Moritz, are founders and co- directors of Strings by the Sea Music camp at Point Loma Nazarene University. He performs on a Rocca cello manufactured in 1858.
