A.k.a. Glenda Faye Kniphfer
Bluegrass/Country Guitarist (flatpicker), considered to be one of the best. Originally from Bessemer, Alabama, where she learned guitar and played as backup to her sister's banjo, as a young girl. Her sister gave up music, but Glenda, inspired by Doc Watson, was determined to make music her career. In the late '70s she played in Cool Water, a local bluegrass / pop country band in Lubbock, Texas, while she attended South Plains Junior College (Lubbock Campus). Later, in the early '80s, she would join Porter Wagoner's backup band. In 1987 Glenda released her first solo album, "Flatpickin` Favorites" produced by Porter Wagoner.
