Gordon W. Powley was a professional photographer based in Toronto from the 1940s to the 1960s.His career began as a staff writer and then photographer with the Toronto Globe and Mail, ca. 1938 to ca. 1940.He then opened his own photography studio and was active until the early 1960's. Throughout his photographic career, Powley did considerable freelance work for several publications including: the Toronto Daily Star, Star Weekly Magazine, Liberty Magazine, the Toronto News, as well as the Toronto Globe and Mail.
