Formed: 1989, Zeeland (The Netherlands). Disbanded: 1998 Reformed: 2004 Disbanded: 2009 A popular death metal act, Gorefest made a major impact in the early 90s death metal scene with their first two albums Mindloss and False. Towards the mid 1990s the band divided the opinions of their fanbase as they chose to mature their sound, incorporating hard rock and groove elements on their third album Erase. Following a difficult reception to their fifth album Chapter 13 the band split up. Gorefest reformed in 2004, and after releasing two successful albums the band announced that they had completed their body of work to their full satisfaction. They split up in 2009.
