American jazz cornetist. b. September 16, 1960 (Brooklyn, NY, USA) The son of Roy Haynes, he first studied the trumpet in high school before studying with Dave Burns. First professional jazz position was with Jaki Byard ('78-83), before playing with Michael Carvin ('81-82), and Steve Coleman ('79-88). He moved to Paris in '91 but returned to the US in '93.
