World and Folk
Granny's Attic are a teenage (at this moment) folk trio who met and formed whilst at secondary school in 2009, based in Worcester, UK. They have since been regularly playing a variety of gigs including festivals, local events and gigs across the country. Their passion is in the folk genre. They play a range of English, Irish, Scottish traditional music, as well as their own compositions. Each member plays a diversity of instruments, with the main line-up being melodeon, concertina, guitar, fiddle, mandolin and of course vocals. Since their beginnings they have issued two recordings from their own stable, the Mind The Gap EP, recorded live in 2011 at a performance from Worcester Baptist Church Hall and their debut album Better Weather, released during 2014. Both works impeccably demonstrate the talents of these three youngsters. Also on 19th February 2014 they were one of four nominees for the coveted Young Folk Award held at The Royal Albert Hall at a glittering BBC Folk Awards Ceremony. The members are: George Sansome Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne Lewis Wood Watch this space! These three lads can only get much better, yet already they display a fabulous maturity in their genre, so further output is going to be phenomenal!
