A vocalist and influential composer of popular music in the early 1900s. He originally lived in Maryland and moved to San Francisco, CA in 1888. From there he also spent time in Fresno, CA and Santa Cruz, CA. He was married to Harriet Falkenstein and had a son, Ray Falkenstein. His musical accomplishments include: -Organizing the first saxophone quartet in the United States -Being the assistant director of a large, traveling Shrine band, of which Teddy Roosevelt was a member. -Organizing a famous military band in Fresno -Organized the Fresno municipal band -Leader of the Fresno Sciots Band -Provided a musical foundation for Ginny Simms who later joined Kay Kyser And His Orchestra -Was a judge for state legion band contests for a number of years
