A.k.a. Gregory Beaver
Gregory Beaver is an American cellist, a member of Chiara String Quartet, and a husband of Julie Yoon, who plays second violin in Chiara. He graduated cum laude from Rice University with a BMus degree in 1998, with Norman Fischer as a major teacher, and continued his studies at the Juilliard School, where Greg received a MMus degree under Joel Krosnick in 2000, as well as an artist diploma in String Quartet Studies in 2005 (mentored by the members of the Juilliard String Quartet). Beaver won the 1997 Corpus Christi Young Artist's Competition and was selected as one of the two US quarterfinalists for the Australasian International Cello Competition in New Zealand. In 2015, Greg Beaver performed the complete Unaccompanied Cello Suites by Johann Sebastian Bach in a single concert in Massachusetts, repeating this performance next year over live webcast in Nebraska. The cellist has worked with Pierre Boulez in a special Carnegie Hall performance of Messagesquisse, and appeared as a principal cellist of the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra under the baton of Claudio Abbado, Robert Spano, and other outstanding conductors. Gregory is also a highly skilled expert in PHP programming language, and in 2006 he published a book The PEAR Installer Manifesto: Revolutionizing PHP Application Development and Deployment.
