Gregg Mervine is an American drummer who plays all kinds of beats for all kinds of bands, including the anti-folk outfit "Cheese on Bread", a jazz/poetry/spoken-word collaboration called "The Playground", and his own roots/folk/art quartet (not yet named). Mervine also teaches percussion and studied musical performance at the University of the Arts briefly before transferring to Temple University, from which he just graduated with a B.A. in philosophy. He lives in West Philadelphia, where he is involved in various community arts programs.
