Grey Area, is a House music duo born out of the fusion of Netherland’s two greatest cities. One a native of Amsterdam, the other hailing from Rotterdam. The result is unique blend of old school house with funk and disco influences. The music tends to have a deep and warm sound with horns and strings along with classic deep house style keys, rhodes, and pads. Laid back but at the same time soul grabbing. The team is made up of Max Dorsman Lemstra (26) and Jay van den Kieboom (28). Both graduates of SAE Institute, they are trained audio engineers, experienced producers and inspired DJs. Theirs is a true collaboration. A continuous partnership since 2011, they have brought their sound to prime clubs in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and New York City. Their combined focus lies on the creation of ‘song’ structured compositions with a focus on boundlessly deep harmonic theme’s and enthralling rhythmical elements. Grey Area can be found on Soundcloud and in all the finer retailers in underground music, as well as on limited release vinyl. They have previously released on Defected, Soul Heaven, Lost My Dog Records, Night- bird Music, and Dark Energy Recordings and have been featured on compilations with artists such as Laurent Garnier, Chris Carrier, Moodymanc, Pete Dafeet, Ian Pooley, Andreas Hennen- berg, Fouk, Luvless, and Junktion.
