In 1999, Philippine alternative/hard rock band Greyhoundz released their debut album, 7 Corners of Your Game. The band's music is a hard-edged mixture of metal, hip-hop, rap, and rock, and takes its cue from the similarly patterned music of American alternative bands Limp Bizkit and Korn. Greyhoundz's vocalist, Reg Rubio, alternates between tuneful, rap-styled vocals and harsh, growling utterances that recall American band Pantera. As with Limp Bizkit, Korn, and Pantera, there is a menacing edge to Greyhoundz's music. The band's musicianship is impressively cohesive and taut. The hard-edged guitar chords of "Mr. P.I.G.," for example, feed off the searing guitar riffs, while Rubio's harsh vocals crackle overhead. The song's tempo abruptly changes to a dreamy, floating sequence, before shifting back into overdrive. "Stage" is built on stream-of-consciousness rapping, as eerie, upper-register guitar notes float in and out of the mix. The song sounds almost warm at this point, but turns menacing with an onslaught of reverb-drenched guitar riffs. "Y?" features guest female rapper Chill, whose sweet voice belies the song's underlying anger and misogynistic lyrics.
