Comes in a 6-panel double cd digisleeve with a fold out poster. ›300 meters below the surface of the Andyrchy mountain, located in the Caucasus region in Russia, lies the Baksan neutrino observatory. There, inside a reservoir, neutrinos emitted by the sun are measured by a reaction of 50 tons of liquid gallium metal. Andyrchie IV is an imaginary successor of the Baksan observatory, designed to observe neutrinos – emitted homeless particles without an inertial system – from far away supernovas. In a future time when the division between particle manipulation and astronomical observation has led to a disregard for neutrino telescopes in the scientific society, only the caretaker of Andyrchie IV has the key to the nearly forgotten insides of the observatory. While waiting the machines, he is listening to the empty corridors and wallows in memories of his past life in Berlin. This fiction is used as a setup to overcome the metaphorical inertia of Berlin, to bring its landscape into view, by transcending the dominant symbolic figures – the ring of the transport system, the privation of the patio – a centrifuge, off-centering and rotating, like a moth around a lamp.‹
