A.k.a. Kristian Grondman Doctor K Kristian Thomas
Based in Melbourne, Australia, Kristian Grondman began his drumming career in 1998 and has since recorded a string of well received releases, as well as performed at iconic venues including the Whiskey A-Go-Go (LA), The Roxy (LA), The Hi Fi Bar (Melbourne), The Espy (St. Kilda), plus many more. Under the stage name "Doctor K", Grondman joined hard rock band Nitidus in 2003 following their relocation from New Zealand. Nitidus won an LA Music Award in 2006 for Hard Rock Artist of the Year with their popular single 'Red Morning'. Grondman recorded two EPs with the group and toured both Australia and the USA. The band took a break in 2008 to focus on family life. During Grondman's down time, he began a project called Ground To Zero, a collaboration with talented friends to create some unique sounds and challenge the limitations of the music industry. Ground to Zero is currently on indefinite hiatus, but who knows what the future holds. Reunited with Nitidus band mate Adam Kurzel, the two joined with former Immersion bassist Ben Howland to form The Romeo Knights in 2009. This alternative rock trio played nearly every venue in Melbourne and released a self titled EP in 2011, with their single Calling Me receiving spins on local and independent radio across Australia. Grondman became a founding member stoner rock trio Riff Fist in June 2011. Together they recorded their "Western trilogy" of Fistful Of Riffs, For A Few Riffs More and The Good, The Loud And The Riff. Infusing their whimsical humour into their live show, the group set a new standard in riff-heavy fun and toured extensively throughout Melbourne, Sydney, Launceston, Hobart and Adelaide. Unfortunately Grondman's personal commitments meant he was unable to join the band on their European tour in April 2015. Nitidus reunited in August 2015 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their Still Here release. Other bands to feature Kristian Grondman on drums include Acolyte, Arabela, Everything Burns, Lustre, Askew and Manic Depressives.
