Band, US
Guardarraya is a band of progressive, experimental and fusion rock, its style maintains the essence of the melancholic component of Ecuadorian music, interspersed with the use of diverse instruments such as flutes and bongos, the addition of theatrical representation in its most outstanding performances and the thread most outstanding rock conductor. All these components make the band the main heir of the stream of Ecuadorian free rock, to which they added their self-described component Popular Urban Music Popular Mestizo Alternative that continues in that renovating movement. However, the band still remains in the independent scene and the lack of a solid musical infrastructure in Ecuador makes these musical attempts and their originality have fewer spaces for their definitive consecration despite the impetus that it takes with musical experiences such as that of Guardarraya . His musical proposal has served as an impetus to the trend of Ecuadorian Free Rock and inspiration to other bands that emulate the movement, even reaching the musical theatrical fusion as happened with Can Can in his icon project Guardacan.
