Band, PO
Thrash metal band from Poland (Biała Podlaska). Guardian was formed in Biała Podlaska in August 1986 by guitarist Przemek – initially playing thrashcore. In April 1987, bassist Marek and drummer Długi were added. Lead vocalist Kazjur was incorporated in January 1988 but soon left. On 23-24th of that same month, the band records its first homonym demo at Marek’s garage – with the bassist himself taking vocal duties. Długi was shortly afterwards recruited by the army, so new drummer Szary was incorporated. In September, second guitarist Benny Hill was introduced. In the meantime, Guardian embraced a thrash/death sound. In April 1989, the band records their second demo Beastlines Resurrection Of Metal!!! at the Wojewódzki Dom Kultury in their home city. On 19th August, they appeared at the Thrashfest festival in the Wągrowiecki OSiR hall. By late 1989, Guardian started working on new songs for their third demo until April 1990. On 28th July 1991, they played the Shark Attack festival – in August of the same year, new guitarist Chali joined the band, while Długi returned. This new formation entered the CCS Studio in Warsaw, where they recorded the demo Mind Of Darkness - released through Carnage Records in 1992. Editor of Beermacht Noise magazine and organizer of the Shark Attack festival Wojciech Witkowski became the band manager by that time.
