Cuban folk composer (1907 - 1995). He started as member of Pepe Figueroa and Alfonso del Río tríos. In 1936 he formed a trio named "Trio Azul" whith Rosendo Ruiz (guitar, director) and Enrique Vals (lead vocals). His most famous song are "La negra Tomasa" and "Bilongo".
