German violin player, born 1953, originally from Neustadt/ Weinstraße, won twice the youth competition "Jugend musiziert" and was leader of Bundesjugendorchester. In addition to being an expert teacher of Galamian's violin technique, Gunhild Hoelscher pursues a busy performance schedule, most prominently in chamber music but also as a much sought-after freelance violinist, playing for such renowned orchestras as the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the German Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin, the German Opera House Orchestra (Deutsche Oper Berlin), the Orchestra of the Tonhalle Zurich and the Zurich Opera House Orchestra.
