A.k.a. Nils Gunnar Sjöström
Born 4 July 1928 in Järvsö parish, Gävleborg County, died December 5, 2018 in Gothenburg, was a Swedish concert pianist. After graduating in 1947, Sjöström underwent soloist training in piano at the Royal College of Music in 1947–52, became a Master of Science in Uppsala in 1950, graduated from Stockholm School of Education in Stockholm in 1954, conducted music studies in Austria and France (student of Bruno Seidlhofer and Nadia Boulanger) in 1954-1956. Music School in Örebro in 1957, director and teacher at Örebro Music Pedagogical Institute 1960, Vice-Chancellor of Higher Music Education in Gothenburg 1966–1986 and was an artistic professor of interpretation at the Academy of Music at the University of Gothenburg in 1984–1994 with responsibility for diploma education and artistic development work. Sjöström debuted as a concert pianist in Stockholm in 1952 and also held concerts abroad. He was a member of the Royal Academy of Music since 1968.
