A.k.a. Gunnel Kristina Bohman
Born March 4, 1959 in Stockholm, is a Swedish opera singer (soprano), mainly in the lyric-drama trade, and actor. After studying at the 1979-1981 Operahögskolan and one year at Folkoperan, Bohman won the first prize in a major competition in Salzburg, thus making a career outside Sweden. Not until the 1991-1992 season, Bohman sang for the first time at the Stockholm Opera, then Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. Bohman started as a lyric soprano, and featured roles like Pamina in the Troll flute, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Countess in Figaro's wedding and Agathe in Friskytten. In recent years, she has mainly performed lyrically-dramatic roles such as Elisabeth in Tannhäuser, Amelia in Simon Boccanegra, Mimi in La Bohème and Tatjana in Eugen Onegin. She played the Emperor in Die Frau ohne Schatten at the Gothenburg Opera 2004 and participated there in Beethoven's Fidelio 2006. Bohman has been working primarily as KBT therapist since 2008.
