Rock and Pop (Alternative Rock)
From Bonsound.com The Gwenwed Electric Fuse Quatuor was originally formed in 1991 at Cégép de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue, in Rouyn-Noranda. The following year, the band took up residency in Montreal. Gwenwed started to take its actual form in 1998 when they released their mini-cd Électrique Fuse Quatuor. That same year the group participated at the Francouvertes competition and came out second place. In May 2001, Gwenwed's first album L'amour la haine les animaux les automobiles was widely received by the critics and enabled the band to win the trophy for Pop Artist of the Year at the 2002 MIMI Gala (Montreal Independant Nusic Initiative), and to perform at the Francofolies de Montréal (2001, 2003), the Coup de cœur francophone festival (2001, 2003) and the Polliwog Festival (2001). In February 2004, Gwenwed released their second full length album, Le retour du bleu métallique.
