Gyenes János /Juan Gyenes (21 of October of 1912 - 18 of May of 1995) was a photographer of Hungarian origin that from 1940 was working in Spain. The most famous "Spanish" photographer of the second half of the 20th century. Hungarian Jewish, Gyenes is considered one of the best Spanish photographers of the second half of the twentieth century. His talent for portraiture and to be accepted in the "Franco court" provided him with the possibility of photographing all personalities between 1940 and the 1980s. His are immensely famous portraits such as Franco's postage stamp or portraits of Marañón, la duquesa de Alba, Romanones, Buero Vallejo, Dalí, Picasso, etc. Enigmatic person full of lights and shadows that knew to gain the admiration of all those who knew him.
