Dr. H.B. Ramsour, Jr. (January 11, 1911 Palestine, Texas USA – May 28, 2011 Dallas, Texas USA): A Baptist preacher who served as a missionary in Hawaii for 14 years. Dr. H. B. Ramsour, Jr. (January 11, 1911 Palestine, Texas USA – May 28, 2011 Dallas, Texas USA) was President Emeritus of the Hispanic Baptist Theological Seminary, now the Baptist University of the Americas, in San Antonio, TX, served as the President of the school from 1960 to 1976. Prior to assuming that position he had served twenty-one years as a missionary of the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board in Japan, Argentina and Hawaii. Earlier he was pastor in Comanche, Oklahoma and Fort Worth, Texas, and taught high school English in Miles, Texas. A native of Palestine, Texas, he is a graduate of Howard Payne University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He received an A. B. from Howard Payne and later was awarded a Doctor of Divinity. At Southwestern he earned a Master of Theology and a Doctor of Theology degrees. His mission activities and denominational responsiblities have carried him to more than half of the states and a dozen foreign countries.
