Habakuk is one of the most popular reggae group in Poland. Band exists since 1990 and described their music as a mix of different styles - roots, rock, reggae, dub. Up to date Habakuk released seven official albums which are very poular in their home country. The first one "Mniam, mniam rege" that came out in 1998 had a great impact on Polish reggae scene and received excellent reviews from the biggest music magazines. "Machina" wrote: 'Unique, energetic and natural ability to compose... catching hits. In short it's the revelation of the season. Habakuk fulfills all requirements to become the ruler of the Polish reggae scene. And all because of this album'. After the second album "Rub Pulse" was released magazines praised this album for its energy and ingenuity. 'Habakuk's artistic activity is maintained in the spirit of reggae music'. Rub Pulse consists of new songs and jungle versions of some of Habakuk's older tunes. The third album called "Muzyka Słowo Liczba Kolor" was released in 2002 followed by "Hub a Dub” containing dub remixes of Habakuk's songs. In 2007 Habakuk published his most famous till this time CD – "A ty siej" in EMI company, contains lyrics of very famous polish poet – symbol of Solidarity Movement – Jacek Kaczmarski. This one is now Gold CD in Poland. Habakuk, as first polish band played on Glastonbury Festival in England. Show was really great. In August Habakuk 2007 headliner of biggest polish open-air – Przystanek Woodstock, and band played for 200 000 audience. On the end of this year company will publish DVD of this show. Habakuk recorded two songs with Don Carlos, and there is a play to publish it. It is first meeting between polish and Jamaican singer since Trebunie Tutki meets Twinkle Brothers 20 years ago. Habakuk supported such artists as Zion Train, Junior Delgado, Dub Syndicate, Mad Proffessor, Mikey Dread, The Skatalites and many others. In 2008 Habakuk published last album called “Family Front”, which contains Habakuk’s ridimms singed by as singers as – Don Carlos, Mikey Dread, Ava Leigh, Flyzzza and many more artists. The band played over 600 gigs in Poland, including shows in small and big venues and was the headliner at some of the biggest Polish festivals ("Przystanek Woodstock", "Reggae Dub Festival").
