Hadi Eldebek is New York City-based oud player, singer and composer. His focus is Arabic music interpreted through a contemporary and multi-genre/multi-ethnic perspective. Hadi began his oud studies at the Lebanese National conservatory before moving to New York to continue with oud and violin master Simon Shaheen. Since then, he has played with groups of diverse backgrounds, such as Indian, Japanese, Turkish and Greek, and collaborated with playwright Heather Raffo on the score for her play 9 Parts of Desire, performing with the touring production. He joined the New York Arabic Orchestra at its launch in 2007-2008, and in 2009, began as a Teaching Artist for Silk Road Connect, visiting New York City's public schools to educate youth about the oud and Arabic music. In 2010, he became a member of the Silk Road Ensemble, and later joined the Brooklyn Philharmonic as composer for the 2012-2013 Outside-In Fellowship.
