The beginnings of Hamburg Ratsmusik date back to the 16th century when the city of Hamburg keep an elite ensemble of eight musicianans able to compete with many court chapels. Awaken in 1991 by the German violist Simone Eckert the ensemble has specialised in music of the 16th - 18th century.
