Trash metal band from Poland Formed: 1985 The first band members was: Robert Kohler (vocals), Andrew Szenajch (guitar), Christopher Laska (guitar). Laska had the idea to band name. Soon joined to the band: Jacek Osuch (bass) and Tomasz Klimczak (drums). In 1986 band won at festival OMPP and Jarocin. In 1987, Hammer changed the style to thrash metal. In 1987 band members changed , Robert Kohler (vocals), Maciej Sawicz (guitar), Peter Kryński (guitar), Robert Kuryś (bass) and Tomasz Klimczak (drums). In January 1988, band signed a contract with Metal Mind Production. In 1989, Hammer released their debut album - "Shermann". Published by Poko International, album was released in Scandinavian countries and after few months was released in Poland by different name - "Hammer". In years 1987-1992 band performed at all editions of festival Metalmania in Katowice. In 1988, the band toured Czechoslovakia with the Czech band - Arakain. In 1990 Hammer with band Turbo (5) represented Poland at the first edition of Prague Metalomanie. In the same year, Hammer supported Kreator on tour in Poland and Czechoslovakia and a band Sodom on their tour in Poland and Hungary. In 1991, with effort of Polish Recordings "Polskie Nagrania Muza" was released album "Terror". In the same year drummer - Tomasz Klimczak left the band and Dariusz Chmura take him place. With a new drummer, the band recorded a new material for "Crushing Mind Mirror", which was never released. In September 1991, Hammer has signed a contract with German label Shark Records (2). In January 1992 come out a new released - "Terror II", it was released in Western Europe and in the USA. In 1992, Hammer supported Sepultura at their tour in Poland and Czechoslovakia. In 1993, the team suspended operations. The band returned to the stage in 2002 and operated under the name Hämmer. In 2003 band released a new album "SCHH-1". In the same year, the bandsuspended operations. Despite the suspension as Hämmer band they released two singles. Group again revived in 2012. In 2013, the team suspended operations for several months. Currently the band under the name Hamer
