Singer

Hamp "King Bee" Swain was a radio DJ on WIBB in Macon, Georgia. He was born in Macon, where he attended the college for a short time and later worked as an insurance agent in Atlanta Life. Swain hosted live programms, dances for teenagers and gigs, some of which were sponsored by Atlanta Life. Together with Clint Brantley he was regarded as an inspiration for James Brown, as he played his songs in the popular radio WIBB, such as "Please, Please, Please". He also hosted the "Teenage Party", an event that was won by soul singer Otis Redding fifteen times in a row. Hamp Swain works nowadays as a car salesman. He was the first who discovered Redding's talent.
