German business executive and employer, born 1 May 1915 in Offenburg, Germany. He died 18 October 1977 in Hem near Lille, France where he got murdered by the Red Army Faction (RAF), of which he had been kidnapped on 5 September 1977 in in Cologne, Germany. Father of Hanns-Eberhard Schleyer.
