Part of Sub Rosa's ongoing series of sound archives, this CD builds on the 3 axes of the European Dada avant-garde, with 3 major artists reading their own texts: Hans Arp, who was close to Tristan Tzara when he created Dada in Zürich - from a very rare 1961 recording. Kurt Schwitters, one of the major figures of the German avant-garde, reads his only two recorded Merzpoems, Anna Blume and Sonate in Urlauten a/k/a Ursonate - both recorded in 1932. Raoul Hausmann, one of the creators of Dada in Berlin - seven pieces (from 1918 to 1947) recorded in 1956/57 by Henri Chopin + two rare documents recorded in 1959 by Bureau. Tracks 1 to 14 were previously released on Hans Arp Liest Hans Arp Tracks 17 to 25 were previously released on Poèmes Phonétiques Complètes Including photos, texts and historical introduction (translation in German, French and English). NB: Track 5 is incorrectly listed as "In Automobilen Reich"
