German comic artist born April, 5th in 1928 in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Died January, 7th in 2016 at the age of 87 years in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. He started in the 50's working for the Walter Lehning Verlag and created the series "Sigurd", "Falk", "Tibor", "Nick der Weltraumfahrer" and other comicstrips which are predominantly released in the Piccolo format. He also took over the comicseries "Akim", created by Augusto Pedrazza. He also created the science fiction series "Titanus" for the Titanus-Verlag and the series "Gert" for the Walter Lehning Verlag and for Lehning the series "Roy Stark". In the Mid-80's he was working for the Norbert Hethke Verlag and created "Fenrir". 1993 Wäscher was included in the "Guinness Book Of Records" for his comic "Gewalttat" as the most productive German comicpainter. 2008 he received the "Max-und-Moritz-Sonderpreis" at the Comic-Salon Erlangen and in 2009 the "PENG! – Der Münchner Comicpreis", at the Comicfestival München for his live achievement. He was lovingly called "Der Meister" (The Master) by his fans.
