Electronic and Rock
Harmonia is a Krautrock supergroup from Germany. They formed as a collaboration between Michael Rother of Neu! and Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius of Cluster and later included British ambient music artist Brian Eno. (The lone release with Eno, "Tracks and Traces", was released under the name Harmonia 76.) The first album, "Musik Von Harmonia" (1973), leaned more towards Cluster's ambient-tinged rock than Neu's Motorik rock. The second album "Deluxe" (1975) had much stronger beats and a more Motorik and arguably more commercial sound. With the addition of Brian Eno for the 1976 recording sessions the third album, Tracks and Traces, was again more ambient in style. Harmonia disbanded in 1976 but reunited in 2007 and performed live, opening the Worldtronics Festival at the at Haus der Weltkulturen in Berlin, Germany on November 27, 2007. The release of "Live 1974", featuring entirely new material not on any previous album, also took place in November of 2007.
