A.k.a. Harry Harold Coon née Harry Harold Walker
Harry Coon was born on June 23, 1922, the son of Louise Dowdell Walker and Harry H. Walker. After his natural father died due to injuries suffered in World War I and after his mother married Owen L. Coon in May, 1930, Harry Coon became the adopted son of Owen Coon and his name was changed to Harry Harold Coon. During his life, Harry Coon worked with his father Owen Coon at General Finance Corporation (1945-1948), and then at CBS from the late 1940's through the mid 50's. This segued into the burgeoning commercial music business working out of his home studio in Glenview. He and Alma Coon owned and operated a radio station in St. Louis, Missouri, during the late 1960's, which he sold. Returning to his home in Glenview, Harry Coon continued his own music business in the 1970's and 1980's. He died November 29, 2014.
