Musician of Folk, Blues and World
American folk/blues guitarist Harry Taussig was born in 1941 "under the sign of Pisces" according to his brief autobiography on the back of his one and only album, Fate Is Only Once (1965). He didn't take up the guitar until he was in college at Berkeley where he was studying physics. Taussig is best known for instructional books on guitar technique. Taussig also has two tracks on a collection called Contemporary Guitar - Spring '67 put out by John Fahey's Takoma label. That collection, while rare, is not nearly as hard to find as Taussig's original LP, and is what inspired the Tompkins Square label to include him on their Imaginational Anthem compilation in 2005. Tompkins Square then reissued his album in 2006.
