Rock
Hawk Eyes were Born in 2004 and after constant touring a self released 3 track demo was recorded in 2005 & their debut album in 2007. The band joined the Brew Family mid 2009. Hawk Eyes have undergone several radical changes in recent years. Matt Reid (ex-Whores Whores Whores drummer) joined mid 2008 as the debut album was due to be released, and Paul Astick moved from drums/vocals to guitar/vocals. ‘A.Or Not? was released in September 2009, the first release for Hawk Eyes on Brew. The EP received international acclaim and lead track ‘I hate this, do you like it?’ gained national radio play from the likes of Radio 1, Radio 6 & XFM. During early 2009 the space themed ‘NASA Vs ESA’ video was created with Roach Productions. Coinciding with this, the band were also busy putting the finishing touches to the recently released ‘A. Or Not?’ EP on Brew. After its completion the band worked with NME photographer Danny North on his directorial debut, the zombie themed video for a new track taken from A. Or Not? – ‘I hate this, do you like it?’. Having covered every inch of the UK touring the country’s length and breadth, the band have established themselves as one of the hardest working bands in the country. Following a summer of endless UK festivals including Sonisphere, Guilfest, Leeds Festival & Hevy Festival, Hawk are now a live spectacle to behold. Through their hard work and determination, they have been hailed by Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Daniel P Carter and generally lauded where praise for heavy bands is generally not given. Recently Hawk Eyes recorded a live session at Maida Vale Studios for Mike Davies Punk Show on BBC Radio 1 & will continue their relentless tour schedule throughout 2011
