Album US 1963 on King Records label
Country (Country, Hillbilly)
Liner notes: This is the second of a series of albums put together by King Records to commemorate the memory, and to add to the legend of the immortal Hawkshaw Hawkins. Nothing more needs to be said about this great artist, this wonderful man. His contributions to country music's Hall of Fame is well known. Included in this album are some songs recorded by Hawkshaw which have never heretofore been released in an album and fill a period of time when Hawkshaw was developing into becoming one of the great stars in country music. These songs represent a period from 1947 to about 1950. By this time his style was accepted, he was a leader, he was a star. No collection of country-western music would be complete without the inclusion of these songs. This man was a legend in his own time and he leaves behind him his music and his recordings to keep that legend alive. These songs are taken from the vaults of King Records and are exactly the same as originally recorded by Hawkshaw Hawkins during those early years.
