In 1984 there was a 4-track EP released on Preppy Records called the Flirts by a group calling themselves Heartbeat U.S.A.. It featured the songs "Impulse", "Kiss 'N' Tell", "Boys Make Me Nervous" and "You're Gonna Be Sorry Later". But this was not a new the Flirts album, instead it was one of the original 'Flirts' girls who brought two other girls together and tried to cash in on the name. This was legally stopped by Bobby "O", as he had no involvement at all in this release, and the group changed their name to Heartbeat U.S.A. and called the EP 'the Flirts' instead.
