Japan-for-U.S. CD reissue of material originally released on two separate LP's: Remington R-199-207 ("Choros No. 6") and Vox-Turnabout LP THS-65002 ("Bachianas Brasileras No. 7"), but this particular CD issue uses the 30-ips master tapes, rather than 15-ips production copies, for the first time, and features 1954 studio recordings by Heitor Villa-Lobos and The Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. The packaging includes an eight-page booklet with liner notes by David Nelson, a brief technical note concerning the recording, and color front and back covers, the former featuring a reproduction of a painting by an unidentified artist, and the latter featuring a photo of the composer/conductor. (The title of this release is given as "Villa Lobos Conducts Villa Lobos" on the inlay card and CD label; and as "Bachianas No. 7 / Choros No. 6" on the booklet and spine -- the former is more accurate, based upon the actual track sequence!)
