Canadian writer and music critic, mainly known for writing about jazz and being one of the foremost supporters of the Canadian jazz scene. After starting out in the women's section of the Toronto Telegram, her love of jazz soon saw her move to the entertainment section in the mid-50s with her column "McNamara’s Bandwagon." She also freelanced for the Canadian publications Saturday Night, Jazz Panorama, Canadian Composer and Music World as well as England's Melody Maker. b 1919 in Galt, Ontario d 2007 in Toronto, Ontario
