died: February 2, 2006 Helen Miller, songwriter and producer who started out in the late '40s writing with fellow female songwriter Fay Manus. She left the business to raise her kids and in the early '60s when she met Don Kirshner, she became the oldest of the group of Aldon songwriters. She had hits with Howard Greenfield and with lyricist Roger Atkins. Helen had a passion for R&B. She made it to Broadway in 1971 with "Inner City" written with the poet Eve Merriam.
