Parhelion is the solo ambient side-project of Ihor Dawidiuk from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The logical offspring of musical concepts he was developing and exploring with his band Tunturia, Parhelion blends guitar drones, icy synth pads and environmental sounds to create ambient soundscapes which further delve into the musical exploration of Arctic landscapes. At times meditative, at times dissonant and overwhelming, his music attempts to capture the solemn magnitude of the north before erupting into a cataclysmic torrent of emptiness and echoing reverb.
