Born: in November 1936 in Casablanca, Morocco French Music Executive and Record Producer. Very successful during the disco era alongside business partner Jacques Morali; most notably as an impresario of group such as The Ritchie Family and the Village People. First began working under Eddie Barclay as a representative for a French record company and later foreign record labels in Morocco. Later meeting Jacques Morali through his work as label owner and music publisher; the two moved to American where Belolo agreed to finance a long-running residency for Morali at Sigma Sound Studios after Morali got the idea of releasing "Brazil" as a Disco song. He was one half of Can't Stop Productions, Inc. alongside Morali. Unlike whom; he is not gay, but rather saw the Village people's gay image as a way to embody a certain partying spirit. He was not a primary songwriter; rather he would occasionally write French-language lyrics for some songs, and afterwards; they would be translated. He did however write English-language lyrics alongside Victor Willis and Peter Whitehead. He currently still works in France as a Record Producer. Father of Musicians Sonia Belolo and Stéphane Belolo.
