Born in 1961 in Franconia. started to play guitar in 1972 , between 1975 - 1979 he partecipated to many bands as guitarist.In 1981 he joined the band Holiday. From 1984 he began the studio "Hartmann Digital" and he worked with Marc Almond, Siouxie and the Banshees, Dave Ball, Trio, Nena, Chris Rea und dem Electric Light Orchestra. In 1985 he played as studio guitarist with Yello, Japan (Steve Jansen & Richard Barbieri), Lothar Meid (Amon Düül), Cherry Lane etc. In 1986 he worked with Mike Hedges in Abbey Road Studio with Toyah. He also had contacts wit Robert Fripp and Ron Wood .
