German songwriter and choir leader, born October 5th, 1881 in Pforzheim; died July 30th, 1936 in Heidelberg. He studied at the conservatory in Karlsruhe, which was possible due to a grant of Friedrich I. of Baden, he was rewarded for writing 'Badens Stern'. He was choir leader in various German cities and wrote a couple of German choir standards, as 'In die blühende Welt'.
