Musician / Composer of Jazz
Hervé Bourde (born July 12, 1951 in Marseille) is a French jazz and improvisational musician (saxophone, flute, clarinet, piano, bolemar, synthesizer) and composer. Bourde, from a musical family, studied with Jean-Pierre Rampal and Alain Marion at the Académie Internationale de musique de Nice. As a flutist, he received the first prize of the Conservatory of Marseilles. In the 1970s he worked with Barney Wilen, Christian Vander and Laurent Cugny. With Bernard Lubat and Barre Phillips he played the album Engatsse in 1979. In 1981 he recorded the solo album "Saxophonus". In the 1980s he continued to play with Phillips and also with John Surman, Aina Kemanis, Pierre Favre, Henri Texier, André Jaume, Raymond Boni and Jean-Marc Montera Own quartet, from which a quintet arose. He also composed for the theater, Carolyn Carlson's Parisian ballet and the film (Guns et Diesel by Robert Kramer, Charles Sterling by Richard Copans).
