The German Metal Band HOTWIRE was formed back in December 1988 by Ralf Neumann (V), Jörg Zimmermann (G), Tom Hecht (G), Frank Gotthard (b) and Tommy Wolf (d). Soon they started writing their own material like the whiskey-inspired pounder “Highway Killer” that soon became a local hymn. “Highway Killer” was released on a regional sampler called “Rock aus ‘m Kalk”. HOTWIRE played a few gigs and attained very positive feedback by the local metalheads until they broke up in 1991 and disappeared from the scene....but sometimes strange things can happen in the Metal Scene...In Summer 2009 - 20 Years after the foundation of HOTWIRE - at Anno Hofmann’s Birthday Party the forgotten metal pearl “Highway Killer” roared out of the boxes and found great attention by “The Mighty Monster” Sasch Menschl - Mastermind of German Metal Band SAINTSBLEED. With Anno’s help he contacted Ralf “Metal Lion” Neumann and Sasch and Ralf decided to record the album entitled “Lost Metal Tales” together - HIGHWAY KILLER was born... They formed a new line up featuring Ralf “Metal Lion” Neumann (V), Sasch “Mighty Monster” Menschl (G), Michael “Reaper” Ulrich (G) Twain “Metal Giant” Friedrich” (B) Sascha “Manimal” Pasaric (D) and started to record the old songs & ideas with new methods, but in the old 80ties spirit in the Mighty Monster Studios in Schwaebisch Hall. HIGHWAY KILLER composed ten groundbreaking hymns of steel and now finally released the Metal Lion’s LOST METAL TALES...
