Hiroshi Nakagawa

Japanese bansuri performer, musicologist, translator, and producer. Born in Yamagata, Japan in 1950, Nakagawa studied Indian music theory at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in northern India from 1981 to 1984. In addition to his formal studies, he studied vocal music with the Dhrupad singer Ritwik Sannyal, and bansuri (Indian bamboo flute) with Gorakhnath Das.
