holotropic is the new name on the slovakian extreme metal scene. It came to life in 2013 (because the end of the world had not happened), through the transformation of a previous tech death project Dyschromatopsy. The trio, back then consisting of Kamil Adamík (guitars, vocals), Janči Hutka (drums) and Matej "Vein" Ferenčík (vocals) was enriched by Tomáš Švantner (guitars) and Rasťo Molnár (bass). After that the band started to rehearse songs with the focus on originality and freedom of artistic expression. That's why the spectrum of Holotropic stretches from fast, technical, insane-sounding riffs, through hard hitting heavy parts to slower, more atmospheric and melodic moments. Lyrically, the band deals with the issues of consciousness, perception of "reality", mental disorders and biases, spirituality and the quest for understanding the world (and one's self). Members of the band have previously been, or currently are members of other bands such as Nonprolific, Drifted Shadows, Disconcrete, God Defamer, Power of Pussy, Virtual Voyage... but holotropic is not just their project, it's a band, with its own life and plans. During its first year of existence holotropic managed to play several shows in Slovakia and played gigs in Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. The band have recently finished recording, mixing and mastering of the material for their first album, which will be called "permeate", and they are constantly looking for new possibilities of live playing.
