Single IE 1972 on Oats label
Rock, Folk, World and (Folk Rock)
On back cover: Green Gravel is one of the oldest traditional songs we have. This Ulster version is a children's skipping song, but the song is really a sad one. Green Gravel is a corruption of "green grave" - and the song is about the death of a young and beautiful girl. We've used the middle eight from a related son "Young Girl Cut Down In Her Prime", versions of which include "St. James Infirmary", and "The Unfortunate Rake". The "Fairy King" is an ancient harp tune. We've coupled it here with the Welsh tune "Blodau'r Drain" (Flowers Of The Thorn). Recorded at Trend Studios, Dublin, 21st and 26th June, 1972. "MADE IN IRELAND" on Side B label "A COBAT COVER BY LALOR" on back cover
